Our Mission...

...is to help educators, youth service providers and youth use digital media and television production as essential learning tools. We give teachers and students the skills, the techniques and the confidence to incorporate these technologies into their learning process and create digital media projects, television and video programs that inform and contribute to the well-being of their communities.

How We Do It

STUDENTS

We take the skills students learn from producing live-television shows, video documentaries and websites along with visual literacy and help them develop critical thinking skills that increase their overall learning ability. Our methods help students:

  • Become highly-motivated learners
  • Develop self-respect and respect for others
  • Develop confidence in their ability to learn
  • Learn to express abstract ideas and concepts clearly and effectively
  • Develop cooperative learning and team-working skills
  • Discover how written and spoken language and visual images operate as communication systems

" The best part [of working on the production] is working together as a team, discussing with group members, learning how to setup video equipment, and getting along with each other."
~ Student

"In previous years, I was guided by the technology experts most of the time. I am now offering training on the computer and video to most of the students in my classroom. Yah!” ~ Teacher

"Denise expects and gets professional results from students. Her ability to develop talent at every stage of production and live broadcast has kept students connected to their education and given direction to post-secondary training and careers for many. With a live, 1 hour, call-in show, anything can happen. It's always fun. I look forward to our 10th season. Youth Media always comes through!" ~ Marilyn Harryman, Producer/ Host of KDOL's CCC Live!
